Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow of Mary’s Meals

In this episode, associate editor Quinton Amundson is joined by reporter Luke Mandato in an episode brought to you by Chalice Canada. The team welcome this week’s special guest, Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow, founder and CEO of Mary’s Meals. MacFarlane-Barrow is the bestselling author of The Shed That Fed a Million Children, a CNN Hero, and was named one of TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2015. From his earlier days providing aid to feeding 200 children in Malawi in 2002, MacFarlane-Barrow has grown Mary’s Meals into a global movement that now provides daily school meals to more than 3 million children across 16, soon to be 17, countries. Amundson and Mandato discuss the simple yet powerful mission, its impact, growth and support over the past two decades and how Catholics and people of goodwill can support it well into the future.
