CFB Wainwright Tragedy and Pope Leo’s Recovery.

In this episode, editor Mickey Conlon is joined by associate editor Quinton Amundson and reporter Luke Mandato. The team opens with deep condolences for the four Canadian Armed Forces members killed in a tragic fire at CFB Wainwright, Alberta, and the dozens more injured. Amundson shares his conversation with Bishop Scott McCaig, Military Ordinary of Canada, reflecting the profound grief felt across the military community. The conversation then turns to encouraging news about Pope Leo XIV. Just five days after surgery for early-stage lung cancer, the Holy Father returned to public ministry, praying the Angelus in St. Peter’s Square. Mandato reports on his interview with Dr. Vaibhav Gupta, who offers a favourable medical outlook on the Pope’s recovery. The hosts reflect on the powerful role of prayer during times of crisis and healing.
